Rosetti Perchik, founder of The Clamshell Foundation, was an active member of the East Hampton community and each year led several of the foundation's events, all of which were designed to help those in need. They included the much-loved Sandcastle Contest held at Atlantic Beach in Amagansett and the Great Bonac Fireworks Show.
Mr. Perchik and his foundation held a turkey drive at the Amagansett IGA every November to collect Thanksgiving meals for those in need. Proceeds from other Foundation events benefit Toys for Tots; the Dory Rescue Squad; the East Hampton Town Trustees Rysam Fund; the Nature Conservancy shellfish program; Boating Safety Week; The Odie Fund; and Camp Good Grief, which is a bereavement camp dedicated to children.
